I RESCUED MY COWORKER AFTER HE OVERDOSED ON A CELL TOWER

Tower climber Reed Remington reached out to Tommy Schuch and said he had a story that needed to be told.
While working on a cell tower in Michigan, Reed and his crew lost communication with a climber who had become unresponsive hundreds of feet in the air. Realizing something was wrong, Reed initiated a rescue and climbed to his coworker, later learning the incident involved substance use.
But the rescue itself is only part of the story.
This interview explores a side of the tower industry that many people never see: substance abuse, safety concerns, workforce realities, and the disconnect between the public perception of tower climbing and what some workers experience in the field.
As Reed says in this interview: "People have the right to know what they're getting into before they sign up."

In general, the public has only seen one side of tower climbing.
The views. The “cool factor.” The videos of workers hundreds of feet in the air doing a job that most people could never imagine doing themselves.
But what people don’t see is everything that happens behind the scenes.
In this raw, conversation, Tommy Schuch met up at a Tower site in downtown Nashville with Timothy Hollingsworth, better known online as Mullet Cowboy, to talk honestly about what life in the tower industry is actually like.
They discuss the good and the bad of this profession…
The freedom that comes with the job.
The brotherhood among crews.
Why so many people fall in love with climbing.
But Tommy and Tim also the realities that rarely get talked about.
Long weeks away from family.
Low pay across much of the industry.

This was not intended to be a polished corporate conversation. This is two people who have lived this industry sitting down underneath a live tower site and having an honest discussion about what tower climbing really demands from the people doing the work.

THE CELL TOWER RADIATION DANGER NOBODY TALKS ABOUT | FACT OR FICTION

Tommy Schuch was frequently overexposed to cell tower radiation while working as a tower climber.
This video is one of his many firsthand accounts, combined with interviews from top RF experts - exposing how climbers are left with all the risk, while industry and regulators deflect liability and responsibility.
What makes it worse: equipment is often turned back on remotely after being shut off — leaving workers directly in front of live antennas or on the lines with no warning.
This is common across the industry because the system is stacked against climbers:

OVERLOADED AND LIED TO: THE TOWER COLLAPSE THAT KILLED 3

In 2014, three lives were lost in Despard, West Virginia due to a preventable tower collapse. This is their story.
Tower climbers Kyle Kirkpatrick and Terry Lee Richards Jr. were killed when a 340-foot tower collapsed due to many factors including, hidden overloading, and the removal of key bracing. Moments later, a second tower fell, killing volunteer firefighter Michael Dale Garrett, who had just arrived on scene.
This disaster is not an isolated event in the wireless industry — but what caused it was buried in silence. This documentary talks about the preventable errors, the ignored red flags, and firsthand accounts of those on scene.
